    I’ve lit green screens with white light and green light (filtered with a gel). I find that the green light gives you a more pure color and also seems to get the exposure closer to the desired amount.

    The important thing about the green screen is that it’s a smooth color, and not a color that will blend with your subject. So just keep the lighting consistent. If you’re outside, use daylight balanced lighting. If you’re inside, use lighting to match ambient.
